The agreement was reached between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone in Kunming, China's Yunnan province on November 6.

Both sides also agreed to continue maintaining security and building the Viet Nam-Laos borderline of peace, friendship, stability and sustainable development.

The two sides agreed to create breakthroughs in bilateral economic relations, boost cultural cooperation, and continue close coordination and mutual support on regional and international issues of shared interests and concerns.

Prime Minister Sonexay affirmed his country always attaches importance and gives priority to luring investments from Viet Nam, especially in such strategic areas like infrastructure development, energy, and transport connectivity.

Sonexay took the occasion to express sincere thanks to the Party, State and people of Viet Nam for their heartfelt support and assistance for Laos to successfully undertake its role as the Chair of ASEAN 2024.

He invited the Vietnamese Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Laos and co-chair the 47th meeting of the Viet Nam-Laos Inter-governmental Committee in 2025./.
