Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visits Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Kunming
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Tuesday visited Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Kunming, China's Yunan province, as part of his tour to the neighboring country to attend three regional summits.
The site, located near the People's Government Headquarters of Wuhua District (Kunming City), is where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked from February to October 1940, during which me met with Vietnamese revolutionaries such as Pham Van Dong and Vo Nguyen Giap to discuss critical events of the Vietnamese revolution.
In 2011, the site was recognized as a city-level cultural relic protection unit and it was upgrade to a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in 2019.
More than 110,000 turns of tourists visited this relic site to learn about President Ho Chi Minh who was honored by UNESCO as a Hero of National Liberation and a Great Man of Culture of Viet Nam, as well as the friendly relations between Viet Nam and China.
During the visit, Prime Minister laid flowers and observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the President Ho Chi Minh's great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
In the guestbook at the memorial site, Pham wrote: "I felt deeply moved in my visit to the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Kunming. This is a valuable historical site that stands as proof of the enduring solidarity and bond between the revolutions of the two Parties and the two countries Viet Nam and China.
Pham also expressed sincere thanks to the Party, administration, and people of Yunnan province for respectfully preserving this memorial site./.
