Pham reiterated that the Vietnamese Party, State and people always regard the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia as one of the top priorities in its foreign policy.
He urged the Russian legislative body to continue supporting and facilitating the Vietnamese community in the country to integrate into the local society, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of Russia, and strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
Pham proposed that the Federation Council of the Russian Federation continue to maintain an objective and balanced stance, and voice support for the principled stance and viewpoints of Viet Nam and ASEAN in addressing the East Sea issue on the basis of international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Matviyenko, for her part, emphasized the need to foster stronger ties in humanitarian cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, education and training, tourism, and cultural exchanges in order to strengthen mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
Both sides should step up local-to-local cooperation, effectively implement existing partnerships, and promote the establishment of new twinning relationships between localities—especially after Viet Nam's recent administrative reorganization, she suggested.
The two leaders vowed to continue increasing all-level delegation exchanges via various channels, including the parliamentary channel, thereby contributing to consolidating political trust and creating a foundation for comprehensive cooperation.
They stressed the need to uphold the role of their legislative bodies in supervising the implementation of agreements reached between the two Governments across areas such as economic and trade cooperation, energy and oil and gas, high science and technology, security and defense, human resource training, and infrastructure.
The host and the guest asserted to enhance collaboration in culture, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and connectivity between localities.
Both sides also discussed measures to reinforce collaboration at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP), thereby contributing to peace, cooperation, and sustainable development./.
