Vietnamese, Russian Prime Ministers hold talks in Moscow

VGP - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin in Moscow on Monday as part of the former's ongoing official visit to Russia.

Both sides agreed to continue enhancing dialogues, consolidate political trust, promote contacts and exchange of delegations at all levels and across all channels to solidify the ground for bilateral ties, especially in such fields like economy, trade, investment, energy, agriculture, transport, logistics, education and training, tourism, science and technology, local-to-local cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.

The two Prime Ministers reiterated their resolve to further lift up economic, trade, and investment cooperation to make it a pillar of the overall relations; effectively implement the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Viet Nam, further open up markets for their exports, and promote bilateral investment activities.

The two leaders reaffirmed their resolve to further bolster energy, oil and gas cooperation as this sector has already become a symbol of effective cooperation between the two countries while mulling over expanding cooperation into areas such as new energy, clean energy, and renewable energy to contribute to advancing green transition and sustainable development in respective countries.

The two Prime Ministers welcomed the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on construction of the first nuclear power plant in Viet Nam, affirming that the deal is a significant step forward in bilateral nuclear energy cooperation for peaceful purposes.
