Prime Minister Le Minh Hung meets Timor-Leste Prime Minister, ADB President in Cebu
VGP – Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met with Timor-Leste's Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão in Cebu on Thursday ahead of the 48th ASEAN Summit and related Summits.

Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão spoke highly of Viet Nam's rising role and position in the region and thanked Viet Nam for its support and assistance for Timor-Leste's cause of national development and ASEAN integration.
Xanana Gusmão affirmed his country wishes to continue advancing multi-faceted cooperation with Viet Nam, particularly in such fields like trade, investment, telecommunication, education and training.
He also highly valued the performance of Viettel's Telemor brandname in Timor Leste, saying this is a symbol of effective cooperation between the two countries, which has made positive contributions to socio-economic development in his country.
Prime Minister Le Minh hung, for his part, expressed his pleasure at the growing relations between Viet Nam and Timor-Leste. He suggested both sides continue promoting the exchange of delegations, work closely together to effectively tap cooperation potential, especially in the domains of investment, trade, telecommunication, digital technologies, energy, aquaculture and food processing. Le also asked the Government of Timor-Leste to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses investing in Timor-Leste.
Viet Nam stands ready to support and share its experience in economic development and formulation of credit policies for small-and medium-sized enterprises with Timor-Leste, said Prime Minister Le.

The same day, Prime Minister Le met with President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Masato Kanda, during which the former appreciated ADB's contributions to Viet Nam's development over the past many years.
Le welcomed ADB's early launch of a process to develop a Country Partnership Strategy for 2027-2031 period, which reflects ADB's commitment to help Viet Nam realize development goals.
He suggested ADB coordinate closely with the Government of Viet Nam in improving the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation; enhance technical assistance to and policy consultation to help Viet Nam formulate new development model, promote green transition, build supply chains, and adapt to climate change.
He also urged ADB to step up cooperation with ASEAN, as well as the implementation of the Greater Mekong Subregion economic cooperation program.
President Kanda affirmed ADB will still remain a trustworthy partner of Viet Nam in the new development era. He promised that ADB will continue to refine procedures and develop new financial tools to better meet the needs of Viet Nam and other member economies.
