The Sultan warmly congratulated Le upon his election as Prime Minister of Viet Nam, and expressed his desire to work with him to further advance the Viet Nam–Brunei Comprehensive Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner.

He voiced support for Viet Nam to successfully host APEC Year 2027, affirming that Brunei stands ready to cooperate with Viet Nam in areas where both sides have strengths and shared interests.

Amidst the increasingly complex global and regional developments, the Sultan proposed that the two countries should strengthen ties in trade and energy. He took the occasion to invite the Vietnamese Prime Minister to visit Brunei at a convenient time.

Le, for his part, urged both sides effectively and substantively implement the Action Program for the Viet Nam–Brunei Comprehensive Partnership for the 2023–2027 period.

He said the two countries should maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level visits; promote economic and trade cooperation, including mulling over the establishment of a Joint Committee on trade cooperation; and strengthening cooperation in fishing and seafood sectors.

During the meetings between the Prime Minister and ASEAN leaders on the same day, they exchanged views and shared perspectives on several regional and global issues of mutual concern.

They vowed to reinforce collaboration within the frameworks of ASEAN and the United Nations, while promoting ASEAN's central role in addressing regional and international issues.

The Prime Minister invited the leaders to attend and deliver remarks at the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF), which is expected to be held in Ha Noi in early June this year./.
