Prime Minister holds phone conversation with German Chancellor
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a phone conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on September 29 to discuss measures to further promote Viet Nam–Germany strategic partnership towards a more substantive, effective, and comprehensive manner.

Pham hailed Germany's role and position within the European Union and on the international stage, expressing his delight that after 50 years of diplomatic relations, Germany has become one of Viet Nam's leading partners in trade and investment.
Viet Nam always attaches great importance to strengthening and advancing the strategic partnership with Germany across all fields, emphasized the Vietnamese leader.
He urged Germany to work closely with Viet Nam to effectively implement the EU–Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), and soon ratify the EU–Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
The Prime Minister also called for creating more favorable conditions for businesses of both countries to expand investment and business cooperation, and making science, technology, and innovation a new pillar in the bilateral cooperation.
Merz, for his part, expressed his strong impression of Viet Nam's development potential and its growing role and position in the region and the world.
He spoke highly of the significant achievements Viet Nam has attained in recent years in all sectors, as well as the country's adoption of important resolutions to promote socio-economic development, science and technology, and innovation.
Germany treasures its strategic partnership with Viet Nam and wishes to further expand collaboration in strategic areas such as green economy, energy transition, circular economy, supporting industries, and logistics services, told the leader.
Both sides vowed to soon elevate their bilateral relationship into a higher level, continue strengthening high-level delegation exchanges, make effective use of existing cooperation mechanisms, and speed up the establishment of joint working groups in the areas of economy, politics, and labor.
The two Prime Ministers underlined the need to foster stronger ties in various fields, including trade, investment, green finance, renewable energy, digital transformation and sustainable development, supporting industries, digital economy, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and transportation.
They pledged to continue close coordination within the ASEAN–EU framework as well as at international and regional forums.
The two sides exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern, reaffirming their shared stance on settling disputes by peaceful means in accordance with international law.
They emphasized the importance of international cooperation and regional connectivity for peace, stability, and sustainable development./.
