Bui hailed Germany's role and position in the European Union (EU) and on the international arena, affirming that Germany is among Viet Nam's important partners in Europe.
He expressed his delight at the positive developments in the bilateral ties and proposed major directions to further deepen and enhance the Viet Nam–Germany Strategic Partnership across various areas, including politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, science and technology, education and training, sustainable development, and people-to-people exchanges.
Wadephul, for his part, spoke highly of Viet Nam's socio-economic achievements, affirming that Germany wishes to strengthen its friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Viet Nam.
The German government and businesses stand ready to work with Viet Nam in areas of interests and high priorities, including energy transition, he noted.
Both sides emphasized the need to soon elevate the bilateral relations and expand market access, calling for early ratification of the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
They also agreed to make cooperation in science and technology a new pillar of the Viet Nam-Germany relationship, particularly in key areas such as clean energy, nanotechnology, quantum technology, semiconductors, and digital transformation.
The pair committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation in education and vocational training.
The two sides vowed to join hands in organizing meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations in 2025, as well as making thorough preparations for upcoming visits, especially high-level ones.
Regarding regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea issue, they affirmed to promote the resolution of conflicts and disputes via peaceful means and dialogues, and in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter./.
