Infographic: Location of 34 seaports in Viet Nam
VGP - Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh signed Decision No. 804/QD-TTg dated July 8, 2022 announcing the list of 34 seaports of Viet Nam.
Previously, the Government issued Decree No. 76/2021/ND-CP dated July 28, 2021 providing criteria for classification of seaports.
Criteria for assessing and classifying seaports in Viet Nam include criteria on the scope of influence of seaports and criteria on the size of seaports.
Criteria for the scope of influence of seaports are assessed on the basis of the master plan on development of the seaport system approved by competent state agencies.
Criteria on the size of a seaport are assessed on the basis of the throughput of goods and the tonnage of ships received at the seaport, through the following criteria: volume of goods through the seaport; vessel tonnage received at the seaport.
The rating scale is 100 points. Based on the score, seaports are evaluated and classified into 4 categories. That is special seaport have a total score of over 90 points; grade 1 seaports with a total score of over 70 to 90 points; Class 2 seaports have a total score of 50 to 70 points; Grade 3 seaports have a total score of less than 50 points./.
