The Hue Heritage Complex is flooded

In the latest official telegram sent to local leaders of central localities of Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An, the Prime Minister urged them to continue search and rescue efforts, provide emergency aid, repair infrastructure, and ensure public health and safety.

Top priorities include repairing damaged roads, restoring schools and electricity, cleaning up after floods, reviving agricultural production, and preventing disease outbreaks.

Local authorities were required to report progress by November 2 and submit detailed loss assessments by November 5 for additional support from central Government.

The Government chief tasked the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to deploy forces and equipment, including helicopters in relief and recovery efforts.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha was assigned to directly oversee recovery efforts, while Deputy Prime Ministers Mai Van Chinh and Ho Quoc Dung are responsible for inspecting severely affected areas.

Over the past week, torrential rains exceeding 1,500mm have caused widespread flooding in the central region. As of October 30, 22 people were reported dead or missing, more than 120,000 houses were flooded, and infrastructure was heavily damaged.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warned that heavy rains are expected to continue in Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An, with rainfall possibly exceeding 700mm until November 4./.
