Gov’t allocates VND350 bln to support flood-hit central provinces
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has decided to provide emergency financial support worth VND350 billion (US$13.3 million) to Hue City, Quang Tri Province, and Quang Ngai Province to help overcome damages caused by recent floods.

Specifically, Hue will be allocated with VND150 billion (US$5.7 million) while Quang Tri and Quang Ngai will receive US$3.8 million each.
The People's Committees of these localities are responsible for managing and delivering the funds to right beneficiaries in accordance with the provisions of the Law on State Budget and other relevant legal regulations.
The Ministry of Finance has also issued a decision requiring the General Department of State Reserves to allocate goods free of charge from the national reserve to the People's Committee of Hue City to support disaster recovery efforts and help residents quickly stabilize their lives after the floods.
The list of allocated goods includes 300 tons of rice, one DT3 high-speed boat set, 20 lightweight rescue tents, 5,000 life buoys, 5,000 life jackets, 300 lightweight rafts, two power generator sets, three drilling and cutting equipment sets, five water pumping and firefighting machine sets, and three rescue rope-launching equipment sets.
Central Viet Nam has experienced widespread and prolonged heavy rainfall, with particularly extreme levels recorded in several areas. Hue experienced exceptionally heavy rain ranging from 800 to 1,500 mm; Da Nang 600–900 mm; Quang Ngai 400–600 mm; and Quang Tri saw 300–500 mm of rainfall.
