UK provides £0.5 million to help Viet Nam overcome flood aftermath
VGP - Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) David Lammy announced that the UK has promptly financed £0.5 million to help Viet Nam overcome the aftermath of the recent floods.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son on October 20 held a phone conversation with his British counterpart to discuss measures to promote bilateral ties in the time ahead.
This is the second conversation between the two officials within the past month.
The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister underlined that Viet Nam always attaches great importance to the Viet Nam–UK Strategic Partnership, reiterating the UK is one of Viet Nam's leading and most important partners in the European Union.
He expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to strengthen substantive cooperation in various areas, especially in trade and investment, education, science and technology, digital transformation, defense and security, environment and climate change, energy, culture and tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
For his part, Lammy stated that the UK always highly attaches importance to its friendly relations with Viet Nam, expressing his confidence that with close coordination between the two governments, the Viet Nam–UK relationship would continue to advance in a more sustainable and effective manner. He underscored the need to promote all-level delegation exchanges in the near future.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue promoting negotiations, and signing new agreements to create a favorable legal framework for bilateral ties.
They underscored the significance of the signing of substantive and mutually beneficial trade contracts, which serve as a foundation for deepening the relationship, bringing benefits to their peoples.
The two Deputy Prime Ministers reaffirmed the two sides' determination to elevate the Viet Nam–UK Strategic Partnership to a new and deeper stage of development, meeting the interests and expectations of their peoples and contributing to peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region and the world./.
