Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son
Bui hailed the strong developments in Viet Nam-Indonesia relations over the last 70 years, on the basis of the solid foundation nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress of Viet Nam-Indonesia strategic partnership, particularly the sustained political trust between the two countries as well as effective cooperation in all areas, from trade-investment, security-defense to people-to-people exchanges and policy coordination at multilateral forums.
Sugiono, for his part, expected that the bilateral ties will reach a new height this year.
Indonesia attaches importance to the strategic partnership with Viet Nam, he reiterated, proposing that both sides continue to strengthen practical cooperation across all sectors, and join hands in organizing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties (December 30, 1955).
Both diplomats vowed to work closely to implement common perceptions of their senior leaders and increase high-level delegation exchanges in connection with Viet Nam's hosting of the ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) from February 25-26, and the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit from April 16-17.
They also pledged to foster comprehensive cooperation and mutual support at regional and international forums, particularly within ASEAN and the United Nations, to further uphold ASEAN's central role.
Bui took the occasion to invite Sugiono to visit Viet Nam soon, and the latter gladly accepted the invitation./.
