State President Luong highlighted the King's historic visit to Viet Nam, which would open up a new chapter in the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He was convinced that the visit will inject fresh momentum for substantial, effective, and mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to the happiness of the people, the prosperity of the two nations, and to peace, stability, and development in the region and the wider world.

The State President commended Bhutan for its remarkable achievements in national development, highlighting that the country is among the very few in the world to have achieved negative carbon emissions, with forests covering more than 70 percent of its territory.

He described Bhutan as an inspiring model of sustainable and harmonious growth, where humility, community values, and balance between humanity and nature are held in high regard.

He further noted that his talks with the Bhutanese King had taken place in a sincere, profound, and constructive atmosphere, during which the two leaders discussed ways to promote effective cooperation across multiple areas—particularly the economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism, connectivity, people-to-people exchanges, and issues of shared concern.

In reply, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck expressed deep gratitude for the warm and respectful welcome extended by the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam.

He praised Viet Nam's spirit of resilience, solidarity, and courage, as well as its commitment to preserving its cultural heritage and pursuing a steadfast vision for the future. The King noted that, even after 80 years, the sacrifices of past generations are honored in the extraordinary achievements the Vietnamese people continue to build.

The Bhutanese King also paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, recalling his visit to the Mausoleum during the nation's 80th founding anniversary celebrations.

Bhutan said the King has always shared the same spirit with Vietnamese friends, stressing his belief that historical heritage serves as a compass guiding both peoples toward a better future.

The King also said that as Bhutan is also known as the "Land of the Thunder Dragon", while Viet Nam is often known as the "Land of the Flying Dragon - Thang Long", he hoped that the dragons of the two countries will fly high together, being strong, confident, and eternal./.
