State President holds talks with Bhutanese King in Ha Noi

The State President warmly welcomed the King's visit to Viet Nam, emphasizing that it is the first visit by a Head of State of Bhutan to Viet Nam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in January 2012.
The visit took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Viet Nam's National Day (September 2), which carries special significance and opens up a new chapter in the bilateral relations, noted the host.
He congratulated Bhutan on the sustainable development achievements it has attained under the leadership of the King and highly appreciated the country's unique development model.
The State President welcomed Bhutan's efforts to expand relations and practical cooperation, affirming Viet Nam's readiness to facilitate stronger connectivity with Southeast Asian countries and ASEAN.
The King, for his part, thanked the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam for the warm and respectful welcome extended to him, the Queen, and the high-level Bhutanese delegation.
He expressed his belief that Viet Nam will achieve its sustainable development goals, expecting to study and learn from Viet Nam's governance model and economic development experience.
Bhutan hails Viet Nam's role and position in the Asia-Pacific region and wishes to work with the Southeast Asian nation to strengthen cooperation in areas where both sides have strengths and potential, for the benefit of their peoples as well as for peace, stability, cooperation, and prosperity in the region and the world, said the King.
The leaders vowed to continuously enhance their friendship and mutual understanding, promote all-level visits, and accelerate the signing of cooperation agreements to create a favorable framework for the implementation of specific projects and activities.

They highlighted the great potential for economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries, pledging to encourage their agencies, ministries, sectors, and businesses to boost cooperation, facilitate market access for each country's key products, diversify supply chains, and strive to increase bilateral trade turnover in the coming period.
They called on both sides to expand cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, science and technology, innovation, education, training, culture, and arts and urge the airlines of the two countries to soon consider opening direct flights to promote tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
Both leaders agreed on the need to share experiences in preserving and honoring each nation's cultural heritage and step up collaboration in new areas to boost sustainable development.
The host and the guest held that the two countries share many common views at international forums, particularly on issues of sustainable development, climate change response, nature conservation, and peacekeeping.
They affirmed their commitment to working closely and supporting each other at international and regional organizations, especially the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as on issues of mutual concern.
Following the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a framework agreement on cooperation between the two Governments and a cooperation agreement in aviation./.
