Prime Minister hosts Tet banquet in honor of diplomatic corps
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse on Wednesday hosted a banquet in honor of the diplomatic corps ahead of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Prime Ministers Le Minh Khai, Tran Hong Ha, Tran Luu Quang, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, along with foreign ambassadors, chargés d'affaires, and chief representatives of international organizations in Viet Nam and their spouses.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister said under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and backed by the solidarity, consensus, and efforts of the entire political system, as well as support from international friends, Viet Nam has attained important, comprehensive achievements last year.
He took this occasion to thank ambassadors, chargés d'affaires, chief representatives of international organizations, and the governments and people of other countries for their affections and precious, practical, and effective assistance for Viet Nam.
Pham expresses his belief that the ambassadors, chargés d'affaires, and chief representatives of international organizations in Viet Nam will effectively uphold their bridging roles in fostering the friendship and cooperation between nations and international organizations with Viet Nam in a more intensive, practical and effective manner.
Palestinian Ambassador to Viet Nam Saadi Salama, who is head of the diplomatic corps, hailed the country's crucial and remarkable achievements in 2023.
The Southeast nation has expanded and developed comprehensive strategic partnerships and strategic partnerships with many countries, while constantly strengthening relationships with traditional friends, maintaining and developing strong relations with all major countries and key partners, Ambassador Saadi Salama highlighted.
