The diplomat said, on December 9, the Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Cambodia and Thailand called on Vietnamese citizens to carefully consider traveling to areas with complex security developments and proactively leave those areas to ensure personal and property safety.
Vietnamese citizens were advised to strictly comply with local authorities' regulations and guidance, and maintain contact with the Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Cambodia and Thailand.
Given the ongoing developments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has coordinated with relevant agencies to evaluate the situation and instructed Vietnamese representative missions abroad to monitor and maintain close contact with local authorities as well as Vietnamese community networks to stay informed and prepare necessary citizen protection measures, shared the diplomat.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs establishes hotlines at Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad as well as a hotline operated by the Consular Department for citizen protection assistance, said Pham./.
