Regarding the current tensions between Cambodia and Thailand along their border, Pham said that Viet Nam expresses deep concern and urges both sides to remain restrained.
As a neighboring country and a member state of ASEAN, Viet Nam calls on both sides to exercise restraint, refrain from the use of force, fully implement the ceasefire agreement, continue dialogue, and resolve disputes peacefully and satisfactorily on the basis of fundamental principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, the ASEAN Charter, the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), and in the spirit of ASEAN friendship and solidarity, thereby contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Viet Nam will continue to actively contribute to promoting dialogue and implementing the ceasefire agreement between the two countries, with a view to restoring peace and cooperation along the border as soon as possible, in the spirit of ASEAN friendship and solidarity, for the long-term interests of both sides and the region, told the diplomat./.
