The ceasefire agreement is a significant breakthrough to de-escalate tensions and restore peace, stability, security and safety in the region, Pham noted.

"We highly appreciate Malaysia's efforts, in its role as the ASEAN Chair 2025, in actively promoting and creating a favorable environment for the peaceful resolution of differences based on the fundamental principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, the ASEAN Charter, the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), and in the spirit of ASEAN friendship and solidarity, for the benefit of the two countries and the region as a whole," said the diplomat.

Viet Nam believes that the two countries will seriously implement the ceasefire agreement, continue dialogue, and seek peaceful solutions to fundamentally resolve their differences, thereby contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and around the world, Pham said./.
