Viet Nam waives visas for citizens of 24 countries from mid-August

VGP - Viet Nam begins to unilaterally waive visas for citizens of 24 countries to promote tourism growth from August 15, 2025, said Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang.

The Spokeswoman made the above statement at the ministry's regular press conference in Ha Noi on August 14.

The Government has promulgated Resolution No. 229 on visa exemption for citizens of 12 countries, effective from August 15, 2025 until August 14, 2028.

Under the Resolution, Viet Nam will grant visa exemptions of up to 45 days from the date of entry for citizens of Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland, regardless of passport type, provided they meet Viet Nam's legal entry requirements.

Earlier, the Government had issued Resolution No. 44 on visa exemptions for citizens of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

This policy shall take effect from August 15, 2025 until August 14, 2028.

In addition, the Government had also issued Resolution No. 221 on temporary visa exemptions for specially designated foreign nationals eligible for preferential treatment in support of socio-economic development. This policy is applicable the guests of Party and State leaders, scholars, experts, investors, those working in the cultural and artistic fields, and other special cases./.
