The project targets to build an elite and modern cybersecurity protection force capable of preventing and responding to all risks and challenges in cyberspace, thereby firmly safeguarding national security, social order and safety, as well as the lawful rights and interests of organizations and individuals in cyberspace.

Accordingly, a regional training center for cybercrime prevention and cybersecurity will be formed and developed in the country to enhance its position and leadership capacity in the region.

By 2030, Viet Nam also strives to have at least 10,000 highly specialized cybersecurity experts, of whom 20 percent meet international standards.

Meanwhile, 70 percent of ministries, sectors, local authorities, and national critical information systems will use strategic "Make in Viet Nam" technology products while all of cybersecurity products and services must be tested and evaluated before being put into use.

By 2045, Viet Nam targets to be among the leading countries in the Asia–Pacific region in cybersecurity and three Vietnamese cybersecurity companies will be ranked among the world's top 50 providers of cybersecurity solutions, exporting products, services, and technologies to the global market.

In 2025, Viet Nam recorded more than 65,000 cyberattacks, according to the latest data released by Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) on March 12.

According to KSN, in 2025, their cybersecurity solutions blocked a total of 23,839,322 online threats targeting users in Viet Nam. On average, this number is equivalent to more than 65,000 Internet attacks per day throughout the year.

Overall, 23.1 percent of users in Viet Nam faced online threats in 2025. Accordingly, the nation ranks 78th globally in terms of exposure to online threats./.
