The ITU's Global Cybersecurity Index 2024 assesses national efforts across five pillars: legal, technical, organizational, capacity development, and cooperation.

Accordingly, Viet Nam's total score is 99.74, except for capacity development, which reached 19.74/20; Viet Nam's remaining four criteria all achieved absolute scores.

The country was ranked among 46 role-modeling nations in cybersecurity commitments in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Along with Viet Nam, four other Southeast Asian countries also appeared in the group, including Indonesia (100), Thailand (99.22), Malaysia (98.82) and Singapore (99.86).

Several other countries in the Asian region also appeared in the rankings, such as India and Japan.

The report places 46 countries, including Viet Nam, in Tier 1, the highest of the five tiers, reserved for "role modelling" countries demonstrating a solid commitment to all five cybersecurity pillars.

Initiated in 2015, the GCI aims to assist nations in pinpointing improvement areas and spurring actions to develop comprehensive cybersecurity capabilities./.
