Viet Nam targets to become developed digital nation by 2035

VGP - By 2035, all transactions between citizens and the government will be conducted in the digital environment.

This is part of the Government's program for developing applications of population data, electronic identification, and authentication to support the national digital transformation for the 2026–2030 period, with a vision to 2035.

Under the program, by 2030, the core platforms and utilities specified in the program will be fully completed, ensuring that citizens and businesses can benefit from convenient, fast, and secure digital services.

Specifically, during the 2026–2030 period, the program will focus on implementing six groups of specific objectives as follows:

(1) Solving administrative procedures, provision of online public services, and innovation in direction and administration;

(2) Promoting the development of the digital economy and digital society;

(3) Supporting the development of digital citizens;

(4) Upgrading infrastructure and completing the ecosystem for the creation, connection, exploitation, and enrichment of data;

(5) Ensuring social welfare and supporting crime prevention and control, national security, and social order and safety;

(6) Supporting scientific research and innovation.

By 2035, Viet Nam will become a developed digital nation.

National databases, with population data serving as the core, will be interconnected, shared, and effectively utilized to support the development of a smart government, enabling data-driven decision-making based on real-time information.

Citizens will benefit from personalized, automated, and convenient digital services tailored to different life events.

Data and digital technologies will be widely applied across all sectors, including healthcare, education, transportation, agriculture, justice, and security.

By 2035, Viet Nam aims to rank among the world's top 50 countries in innovation and digital transformation, and become a major regional hub in Asia for data connectivity and digital industry development./.
