Viet Nam grants amnesty to nearly 14,000 inmates on National Day
VGP - Viet Nam grants amnesty to 13,920 prisoners, including 66 foreigners on the occasion of the 80th National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025), according to the Presidential Office.

Earlier, over 8,000 inmates were freed in the first round of amnesty in 2025 on the occasion of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30).
With the latest round of amnesty, Viet Nam has released over 22,000 inmates this year.
Since 2009, Viet Nam has released 104,000 inmates who demonstrated good conduct and rehabilitation, while serving their preson terms, enabling them to return to their families and communities as productive citizens. Most have successfully reintegrated, leading stable lives, with many becoming successful entrepreneurs or actively contributing to local social initiatives./.
