The document was inked by Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Mageed Saqr within the framework of State President Luong Cuong's ongoing State visit to Egypt.

At the meeting between the two ministers held on the same day, Saqr underscored the importance of defense cooperation in the bilateral ties, asserting that Egypt expects to strengthen its collaboration with Viet Nam in this field.

Phan, for his part, affirmed that defense cooperation is a field that has received strong attention from the high-level leaders of both sides and holds significant potential for further development. He suggested that the two countries consider establishing permanent Defense Attaché Offices in each side.

Viet Nam welcomed Egypt's proposals for cooperation in training, experience sharing in the use of weapons and defense equipment, as well as collaboration in logistics and military medicine, said the Vietnamese minister.

He called on the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and Minister Abdel Mageed Saqr personally to support and facilitate efforts by the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group to explore the Egyptian market in the near future, thereby paving the way for further cooperation in science and technology, telecommunications, and digital transformation.

The two sides vowed to continue strengthening bilateral defense ties, with a priority given to enhancing delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level visits.

They emphasized the need to prioritize cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping operations and promote cooperation in defense industry and military trade.

The two ministers expressed confidence that defense cooperation between the two countries will make a breakthrough in the near future, becoming one of the key pillars of the Viet Nam–Egypt relationship and contributing positively to peace, stability, and development in the region and globally./.
