Viet Nam, Cuba vow to foster cooperation in combating transnational crime
VGP - Viet Nam and Cuba pledge to strengthen security cooperation and bolster collaboration in the fight against transnational crime to contribute to protecting national security, order and safety in each country.
Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam and Cuban Minister of the Interior Lázaro Alberto Álvares Casas held talks on the occasion of the former's official visit to Cuba from October 12-14.
At the talks, both sides reviewed the implementation of the cooperation agreement signed between the two ministries in 2018.
They agreed to enhance the exchange of all-level delegations and experts across all sectors.
The Vietnamese Minister suggested the Cuban Ministry of the Interior support Viet Nam in areas of Cuba's advantages such as cancer treatment, cerebrovascular intervention and organ transplant.
He urged two nations to join hands in conducting research and promoting technology transfer of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Later, To Lam paid courtesy calls on Cuban First Secretary of the Communist Party cum President Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.
