Viet Nam welcomes Cambodia-Thailand "Peace Deal" signed in Malaysia
VGP - Viet Nam welcomes the peace deal signed between Cambodia and Thailand in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 26, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.

The peace agreement was signed by Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, witnessed by Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and U.S. President Donald Trump.
The peace deal is an important and positive step, demonstrating the joint commitment of Cambodia and Thailand to peace and cooperation, in line with the ASEAN Charter and the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC), said the Spokesperson.
She said Viet Nam appreciates the efforts of countries, including Malaysia as ASEAN Chair in 2025 and its Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and the U.S. and President Donald Trump, as well as relevant parties in seeking a peaceful solution to the Cambodia-Thailand border issue.
Viet Nam believes that the peace deal will serve as a foundation for reinforcing trust and working towards a long-term peace solution, she said, adding that Viet Nam will continue to actively engage in ASEAN's collective efforts to assist Cambodia and Thailand in fully and effectively implementing this document./.
