According to the resolution, the high-level meeting will take place at the UN headquarters in September 2026.

The Resolution encourages participation at the highest level of member states, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, academia, the private sector, and communities in order to share and exchange lessons and strengthen global cooperation in pandemic prevention and response.

The newly adopted Resolution underscores the urgent need to enhance preparedness for future global health emergencies and highlights a comprehensive approach that mobilizes the engagement of all government bodies and society to achieve this goal.

It calls for promoting multilateral commitments and close cooperation between member states and UN agencies, particularly the World Health Organization (WHO) and affirms the need to ensure the equitable and timely distribution and access to vaccines in order to address shortcomings in pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.

Viet Nam's appointment as co-facilitator reflects the international community's recognition and trust in Viet Nam's achievements and active contributions to global pandemic prevention and response efforts in recent years.

UNGA Vice President Gheorghe Leucă expressed sincere appreciation to the Ambassadors of Viet Nam and Chile for their proactive and extensive consultations, which made an important contribution to advancing the preparations for this significant high-level meeting./.
