Guterres warmly congratulated Ambassador Do on taking up his new post and expressed confidence that the diplomat would continue to contribute to further enhancing Viet Nam's position and role at the UN.

With its remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years, Viet Nam has truly become a model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting international peace and security, and contributing to key UN processes, noted Guterres.

He emphasized that the rise of developing countries like Viet Nam will help advance multilateralism and make effective contributions to the collective efforts in addressing global challenges.

Do, for his side, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Secretary-General for his affection toward Viet Nam.

He called for continued valuable support and assistance from the UN and from the Secretary-General personally for both Viet Nam and himself during his tenure at the UN.

Relations with the UN have always been a high priority in Viet Nam's foreign policy, reflecting the country's strong commitment to multilateralism and international law, as well as its determination to contribute more actively and substantively to the common work of the UN, highlighted the Vietnamese diplomat.

He took the occasion to convey the greetings of Viet Nam's senior leaders to the Secretary-General, inviting to visit Viet Nam again and attend the signing ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime scheduled to take place in Ha Noi in October this year./.
