Top legislator leaves for Cuba visit
VGP - Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue and his entourage have left Ha Noi for official visit to Cuba.
Vuong is also set to visit, Argentina and Uruguay.
The visits are made at the invitations of President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina Cecilia Moreau, and Speaker of the Senate of Uruguay Beatriz Argimon Cedeira.
The top Vietnamese legislator is accompanied by Vice NA Chairman Tran Quang Phuong, NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office Bui Van Cuong, Chairman of the NA's Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha, Minister of Construction and Chairman of the Viet Nam Sub-committee of the Viet Nam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi, and leaders of many ministries and localities.
The official visit to Cuba from April 18-23 by the NA Chairman aims to consolidate and deepen the bilateral relations in all fields, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Thanh Tung.
The NA Chairman's trip this time is the highest-level by Vietnamese Party and State leaders to Cuba in 2023. This is also the longest which has the largest number of official activities, with more than 40 covering all aspects, from politics and diplomacy to economy, trade, investment and many others.
On this occasion, the two sides will ink an agreement on inter-parliamentary collaboration, which will help lift the two parliaments' relations to a new height with specific programs, plans and targets of action, he shared./.
