Singaporean DPM describes Viet Nam as important partner

Deputy PM Lawrence Wong made the statement when meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 10 before the Vietnamese leader wrapped up his official visit to Singapore.

Prime Minister Pham congratulated Wong on becoming the leader of the People's Action Party (PAP) fourth-generation (4G) team, expressing his hope that Wong will always support and promote Viet Nam-Singapore cooperation in various fields, from politics, security – defense to economy, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchange.

The Vietnamese Government chief took the occasion to call upon the two countries to boost all-level visits to implement high-level agreements, continue to promote economic connectivity to a new level, share experience in digital transformation, enhance cooperation in green transition and green energy, and prioritize cooperation in human resource training, science and technology, and innovation. 

In reply, the Deputy Prime Minister said as the leader of the PAP 4G team, he will spare no effort to contribute to the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He also expected that Viet Nam and Singapore will boost people-to-people exchanges, tourism cooperation and cultural activities.

The pair agreed to discuss and strengthen the cooperation mechanism between their governments to put the signed agreements into reality./.
