The move was made following the Communist Party of Viet Nam's recent adoption of major orientations for rearranging and streamlining the political system.
Accordingly, the Government plans to set up Ministry of Finance and Development Investment or Ministry of Economy and Development by merging the existing Ministry of Planning and Investment with the Ministry of Finance.
The Government plans to establish Ministry of Infrastructure Development by merging the existing Ministry of Transport with the Ministry of Construction.
The Government plans to set up Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment by merging the existing Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Government plans to set up Ministry of Science, Technology and Digital Transformation or Ministry of Science, Technology, Digital Transformation and Communication by merging the existing Ministry of Information and Communications with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The Government plans to set up Ministry of Home Affairs and Labor by merging the existing Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The remaining ministries and agencies (Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Government Office, Government Inspectorate, State Bank of Viet Nam) shall have to rearrange and streamline their internal structures.
All ministries and agencies shall have to send rearrangement plans to Government prior to December 25.
The Government also assigned the Ministry of Home Affairs to put forward compensation policies for cadres and public employees who lose jobs due to rearrangement.
For Government's press agencies, the Viet Nam News Agency, the Voice of Viet Nam and the Viet Nam Television have to develop and submit plans to rearrange and streamline their payroll./.
