Prime Minister welcomes Siemens AG's participation in Viet Nam’s high-speed railway project
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed German technology giant Siemens AG’s interest in Viet Nam’s high-speed railway project during his meeting with Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Siemens Peter Körte in Tianjin, China, on June 25.

Pham welcomed the group's plan to expand its investment and business activities in Viet Nam, particularly in infrastructure development - one of the nation's breakthrough priorities for socio-economic development in the coming period.
Viet Nam identifies infrastructure development as one of the key breakthroughs for national progress, the Vietnamese leader added.
The country is adopting various models, including public–private partnerships (PPP), to step up investments in major national infrastructure projects, particularly in transportation, energy, and digital infrastructure, noted Pham.
Viet Nam is investing in the construction of railway lines connecting with China to reach Central Asia and Europe, said the Prime Minister, suggesting that Siemens engage with Vietnamese relevant ministries and agencies to discuss these projects.

The same day, the Prime Minister met with Professor Tetsuya Watanabe, President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), during which he expressed his hope that the ERIA would continue to accompany Viet Nam in promoting new drivers of growth and enhancing productivity and competitiveness of the economy, particularly in areas such as digital transformation, green transition, and circular economy.
Watanabe affirmed that ERIA will continue to work closely with Viet Nam's ministries, agencies, and research institutions to propose new ideas and make practical and effective contributions to the achievement of the nation's development goals.
On the occasion, the Vietnamese Prime Minister held meetings with leaders of multinational corporations and investment funds to foster stronger ties in technology./.
