The Vietnamese Prime Minister chaired a seminar on investment potential and opportunities in Viet Nam's financial market in Davos, Switzerland, on January 17 (local time), on the sidelines of the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF-54).

Addressing the event, Pham suggested experts, banks, and financial investment funds assist Viet Nam in policy making, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, restructuring banks, increasing national brand value, and accelerating infrastructure development and human resources training.

He expressed his hope to receive more support to develop the financial ecosystem, improve national credit ratings, enhance standards in terms of accounting, auditing, and financial reporting, thus creating an important foundation for the successful development of an international financial center in the upcoming time.

The Prime Minister called on experts, banks, and financial investment funds to explore possibility of taking part in restructuring poorly-performing banks in Viet Nam and assist the nation in training and developing high-quality human resources for the financial service sector.

The Vietnamese Government always coordinates and creates favorable conditions for foreign investors in general, and those from Switzerland in particular, to launch effective and sustainable operations in Viet Nam, he underscored.

The Government will continue to review mechanisms, policies, and legal tools to prevent corruption and negativity, reform and reduce administrative procedures, and create a fair, open, and healthy playing field, he reiterated.

Philipp Rösler, Chairman of the Viet Nam-Switzerland Economic Forum, said that Viet Nam is among the fastest growing countries in the world in recent years, adding that it is just the beginning and other countries are looking towards Viet Nam.

Representatives of corporations and banks expressed their impressions of Viet Nam's post-pandemic achievements and discussed Viet Nam's potential and advantages as well as models and experience in building an international financial center./.
