Yutaka spoke highly of Viet Nam's development potential and prospect.
To address Japan's aging population issue, particularly the aging workforce of drivers, Yamato Holdings wishes to invest in establishing a professional driver training center in the Southeast Asian country to supply skilled drivers for the Japanese market, he shared.
Yamato Holdings plans to establish a laboratory serving for artificial intelligence (AI) research and application, big data, and digital transformation, making contribution to the development of transportation and logistics for semiconductor sector, and promoting Viet Nam's rapid and sustainable growth, told Yutaka.
Pham highly valued the joint projects between the Japanese logistics giant and Viet Nam's FPT Group, expressing his belief that these projects would make positive contributions to the development of Viet Nam's logistics sector and further strengthen the friendly relations between Viet Nam and Japan.
Pham suggested Yamato Holdings further expand and accelerate its investment and business activities in Viet Nam, not only in logistics and green transportation sectors but also other areas where Yamato Holdings has strengths, such as finance, insurance, and information technology.
He urged Yamato Holdings to support Vietnamese partners in advanced technology transfer, application of cutting-edge technologies, digital transformation, and smart governance in the transportation sector to help Viet Nam engage more deeply in the regional and global supply chains.
The Prime Minister called on Yamato Holdings to provide more scholarships and foster collaboration with Vietnamese training institutions to develop a high-quality workforce in the country.
He also asked Yamato Holdings to work with Vietnamese relevant agencies to explore the possibility of developing a logistics center at Gia Binh International Airport in the northern province of Bac Ninh.
The Vietnamese Government will continue to support and create favorable conditions for Japanese businesses in general, and Yamato Holdings in particular, to carry out effective and sustainable investment and business activities in the country, the Government leader emphasized./.
