Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Malaysia

Prime Minister Pham conveyed greetings from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and other senior Chinese leaders.

Pham said that the recent visit to Viet Nam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping marked a new milestone of historic sigificance as both sides set strategic orientations for the development of the relations between the two Parties and the two countries.

He affirmed the Vietnamese Government stands ready to maintain close cooperation and regular exchanges with the Chinese Government in order to effectively implement the high-level common perceptions reached by the two Party leaders.

Both sides should sustain high-level exchanges; intensify economic, trade and investment cooperation; expand cooperation in science and technology and innovation to turn this domain into a new driving force of the bilateral ties; and give top priority to accelerating railway cooperation, Pham suggested.

Premier Li congratulated Viet Nam on the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the 80th anniversary of National Day, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

Li convenyed greetings from General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to General Secretary To Lam and other senior Vietnamese leaders.

He affirmed that the Chinese Government is ready to collaborate with the Vietnamese Government in concretizing and implementing the common perceptions reached by leaders of the two Parties and States.

Li agreed that both sides should enhance strategic exchanges, consolidate political trust, and promote substantial cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such high-quality trade, investment and railway connectivity.

The two leaders reached common perception on continuation of close coordination with ASEAN Member States in maintaining peace and stability in the region, pushing for early conclusion of an efficient and substantive Code of Conduct in the East Sea in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

On the occasion, the two leaders also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern./.
