President Marcos conveyed his deep condolences to the State, Government and people of Viet Nam over the death of former President Tran Duc Luong.

Marcos highly valued the fine developments in the relations between Viet Nam and the Philippines, expressing his wish that both countries will work together to further promote bilateral cooperation to new heights.

He said that both sides still enjoy vast potential for cooperation in such fields like economy, trade, security-defense, agriculture and renewable energy.

Pham, for his part, congratulated the Philippines on successfully organizing midterm elections, with the ruling alliance led by the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) wining the majority in the House of Representatives.

Prime Minister Pham underscored the significance of 2025 as both sides mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of strategic partnership, towards the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2026.

Pham suggested the two sides actively promote several cooperation focuses, including giving priority to delegation exchanges, facilitating trade to raise the two-way trade volume to soon reach US$10 billion, and enhancing food security and climate change adaptation cooperation.

Comparing notes on regional and international issues of mutual concern, the two leaders agreed to continue mutual support at multilateral forums, actively collaborate with other ASEAN Member States and China to promote negotiations on a practical and efficient Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea./.
