Prime Minister meets top Polish legislators
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had separate meetings with Marshal of the Polish Senate Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska and Marshal of the Polish Sejm (lower house) Szymon Holownia in Warsaw on January 17 (local time).

Pham re-affirmed Viet Nam's commitment to strengthening ties with its traditional partners in Central and Eastern Europe, with Poland as the top priority.
He voiced Viet Nam's support for Poland's entry into the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), which embodies universal principles of peaceful coexistence and friendly cooperation among States in Southeast Asia.
Kidawa-Blonska hailed the Prime Minister's visit as a pivotal milestone, laying a solid foundation for elevating the bilateral relationship to a new height.
The Polish Senate fully advocates the Government in enhancing relations with Viet Nam, she underlined, adding that the Senate supports the ratification of the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) in a bid to facilitate economic cooperation between the two countries.
She welcomed Viet Nam's decision to grant visa exemptions for Polish citizens in 2025 and agreed to step up cooperation in education, health care, culture, tourism and labor.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in bilateral ties and vowed to facilitate delegation exchanges at all levels to consolidate political trust and bilateral relations.
The two sides pledged to strengthen close coordination and mutual support at global and regional inter-parliamentary forums, contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the regions and the world at large.

During the meeting between Pham and Szymon Holownia on the same day, the Polish legislator lauded the practical and positive developments in the sides' traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation, especially in politics, diplomacy, economy, education, training, culture, and tourism.
Pham called on the Polish Sejm to support and actively work with Viet Nam toward elevating bilateral relations to a strategic level, and to promote the implementation of agreements reached during this visit.
He urged the Polish lower house to swiftly ratify the EVIPA and Poland, in its capacity as the presidency of the Council of the EU, to advocate for the European Commission's prompt lifting of its "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese seafood exports.
The Prime Minister also suggested the Polish Parliament support stronger collaboration in digital economy, green economy, and circular economy.
Both sides pledged to maintain close coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums and international organizations, particularly the United Nations and ASEAN-EU frameworks.
Regarding security issues, including the East Sea, the host and the guest underscored the necessity of resolving disputes through peaceful means, including diplomatic and legal processes in accordance with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982)./.
