Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (L) and Andrzej Duda, Warsaw, January 16, 2025

Duda made the above statement during his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Warsaw on January 16.

President Duda spoke highly of the official visit of Prime Minister Pham and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government as the two countries are marking the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations (1950-2025).

He was convinced that Pham's visit to Poland will create a turning point to further promote the Poland – Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership.

Pham congratulated Poland on its impressive achievements in the process of socio-economic development and European integration, contributing to enhancing Poland's role and position in the region.

He thanked the Polish leaders and people for their sincere and respectful welcome to the Vietnamese delegation and briefed Duda about the results of his very successful talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Vietnamese people always bear in mind the valuable support and assistance the Polish people offered Viet Nam in the past struggle for national independence and reunification as well as in the current process of socio-economic development and international integration.

Pham added that Viet Nam always treasures and wants to cement and deepen relations with traditional friends in the Central and Eastern European region, of which Poland is one of the top priority partners.

The pair expressed their pleasure to witness the positive development in the Viet Nam-Poland relations in various fields. Particularly, two-way trade turnover reached over US$2.5 billion annually since 2020, and surpassed over US$3 billion in 2024, making Poland the largest trading partner of Viet Nam in Central and Eastern Europe.

Both sides agreed to continue increasing meetings and exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, to enhance political trust and mutual understanding, considering it as a foundation to soon elevate the Viet Nam - Poland relations to a strategic level.

The two sides agreed to continue full and effective implementation of the EU – Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), thus creating favorable conditions for each other's goods to enter each side's market.

They agreed to encourage Polish businesses to promote investment in Viet Nam in areas where Poland has strengths such as digital transformation, pharmaceuticals, food industry, manufacturing and processing industry, mineral exploitation and processing.

President Duda voiced his support for early ratification of the EU – Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and highly appreciated the Vietnamese community's contributions to Poland.

Pham treasured the support of Polish authorities at all levels for the Vietnamese community in Poland. He hoped that the Vietnamese community will soon be recognized as an ethnic minority group in Poland to continue deeply integrating into the country, contributing more effectively to the socio-economic development of Poland as well as the good traditional friendship between the two nations.

The pair also agreed to work closely and support each other at multilateral forums, especially the United Nations and the ASEAN - EU cooperation framework, to contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the regions and the world./.
