The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the fund's longstanding partnership and sustainable investments in Viet Nam over the past decade.

He particularly acknowledged Warburg Pincus's active support for Ho Tram project in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau — one of Viet Nam's largest resort and entertainment complexes — which has made significant contributions to tourism development, job creation, and budget revenue.

He welcomed Warburg Pincus's efforts and commitment to expanding investment in Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Viet Nam as a whole as well as the proposal to build an expressway connecting Long Thanh International Airport with Ho Tram.

The Prime Minister proposed the fund continue to work closely with relevant ministries and agencies to promptly implement the project, emphasizing that the expressway holds great significance in enhancing regional connectivity, promoting the development of high-quality tourism, supporting service industries, and maximizing the potential of Ho Tram project to become a major tourism hub.

The Government leader expressed gratitude to the U.S. for its support of a strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous Viet Nam.

He expected to continue receiving support from the U.S. to further strengthen and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, including the maintenance and promotion of sustainable economic and trade relations based on equality and mutual benefit.

Pham expressed thanks to the U.S. side for postponing the imposition of reciprocal tariffs for negotiations, adding that the economic and trade relations between the two countries are not in direct competition but are complementary.

Viet Nam largely addresses the concerns raised by the U.S., proactively reduces tariffs, increases purchases of U.S. goods, and remains ready to engage in discussions and negotiations on the basis of mutual benefit, aiming toward a sustainable trade balance, in line with the spirit of recent exchanges between General Secretary To Lam and President Donald Trump, told the Prime Minister.

There is no reason not to continue promoting bilateral relations, as both countries, and their peoples, stand to benefit, emphasized Pham.

Viet Nam needs the support and cooperation of all countries, always respects the legitimate rights and interests of its partners, and listens to well-founded opinions, but does not depend on such support and cooperation, shared the leader.

The Prime Minister called on Warburg Pincus to expand its investments in Viet Nam, as well as mobilize as much capital as possible for both public and private sectors, adding that Viet Nam will actively cooperate to ensure the most effective use of these funds.

He recommended Warburg Pincus engage in discussions with the U.S. to find appropriate solutions to promote two-way trade, in particular, and bilateral ties, in general and urge the U.S. government for the early recognition of Viet Nam's market economy status and the removal of Viet Nam from the list of countries subject to restrictions on high-tech exports.

Perlman, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), asserted that Viet Nam continues to receive strong support from U.S. businesses.

He affirmed that U.S. businesses view Viet Nam as a very reliable partner, and the Southeast Asian nation has been very proactive in its reforms, achieving success both in short term and long term.

U.S. investors trust in Viet Nam's potential and long-term prospects, noted Perlman.

Regarding bilateral trade, the nation has been very active in addressing the concerns of the U.S. and is continuing to remove barriers and obstacles for businesses, including U.S. companies, as well as improves the business and investment environment to foster stronger cooperation.

Warburg Pincus stands ready to provide advice and support in finding mutually beneficial solutions regarding tariffs between the two nations, he said.

Warburg Pincus is one of the world's leading investment management firms, managing over US$83 billion. Since 2013, it has invested more than US$2 billion in Viet Nam, creating over 40,000 jobs./.
