Prime Minister arrives in Switzerland for WEF annual meeting 2024
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and his spouse on January 16 arrived in Zurich, Switzerland to attend the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
He was welcomed by Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Phung The Long, Ambassador, and Head of the Permanent Mission of Viet Nam to the United Nations (UN), WTO and other international organizations in Geneva Le Thi Tuyet Mai and other Vietnamese officials and expatriates living in Switzerland.
During his working visit, Pham will attend and deliver his remarks at events within the framework of meeting, including a seminar on development cooperation in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and automobiles; WEF's Country Strategic Dialogue on Viet Nam; Policy dialogue session "Viet Nam: Orienting a global vision"; a seminar on promoting new growth drivers in Viet Nam; and a discussion on promoting the role of global cooperation in ASEAN.
The occasion, the Prime Minister will meet Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the WEF, and hold bilateral meetings with foreign leaders and representatives of international organizations and businesses.
He will also attend and address a seminar on experiences and models for developing Switzerland’s international financial center, as well as meeting CEOs of leading Swiss corporations and businesses.
The Prime Minister's attendance at this year's WEF annual meeting is an important opportunity to grasp and take advantage of new opportunities and trends; and share views and visions on global issues, affirming Viet Nam's proactive participation and responsible contributions.
The trip also creates a chance to introduce Viet Nam's achievements and development orientations, thereby attracting resources to serve the country's development and step up collaboration in areas of practical interests with Switzerland./.
