Luong congratulated Lee on his election as the 21st President of South Korea, and conveyed the greetings from General Secretary To Lam and other Vietnamese leaders to President Lee.

He hailed the South Korean President's emphasis on relations with the Asian region, adding that this phone call reflects the importance that South Korea places on its relationship with Viet Nam.

Viet Nam supports South Korea's development policies, noted the Vietnamese leader.

Luong expressed his confidence that under President Lee's leadership, South Korea will continue to prosper while its people will enjoy greater happiness, and the country's international role and position will be further strengthened, making positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and around the world.

He expressed his delight at the achievements between the two countries over more than 30 years of diplomatic relations, especially since the upgrade of bilateral ties into a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Vietnamese leader affirmed Viet Nam's consistent stance of always valuing its relationship with South Korea, expecting to work with President Lee to further promote the bilateral relationship towards a substantive, effective, comprehensive, and long-term manner in the time ahead.

For his part, Lee expressed his deep gratitude to General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong for sending congratulatory messages immediately after the presidential election results were announced.

The South Korean government always regards Viet Nam as an important partner in the region and wishes to further strengthen the bilateral ties, underlined the Korean leader.

Lee spoke highly of Viet Nam's recent national development achievements, expressing his wish that both sides would work together for the shared development of both countries.

He called on Viet Nam continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for South Korean enterprises to invest and expand their investment in the country in the coming time.

The two leaders pledged to carry out major orientations to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership.

They committed to maintaining and promoting high-level and all-level delegation exchanges, expanding collaboration in defense, security, and the fight against transnational crime.

Both sides vowed to closely work to implement concrete actions in economic, trade, and investment cooperation to address current global challenges.

They also emphasized the need to make cooperation in science, technology, and innovation—especially in high-tech industries—a key pillar in advancing bilateral relations.

The two Presidents asserted to strengthen cooperation and support each other at regional and international forums, including coordinating efforts for the successful organization of the APEC Summit 2025 in South Korea, the APEC Summit 2027 in Viet Nam, while co-chairing the Mekong–Korea Cooperation mechanism./.
