Peng stressed that the Vietnamese leader's visit would help implement agreements reached during recent high-level visits, particularly General Secretary and President To Lam's recent visit to Singapore.

The visit would also contribute to advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across Party-to-Party, State-to-State and people-to-people channels, thereby strengthening the political foundation and creating new momentum for bilateral cooperation across various fields, noted the host.

Congratulating Viet Nam on its major and comprehensive achievements in recent years, the top legislator affirmed that Singapore would continue to accompany Viet Nam, share its experience and expand cooperation into areas suited to the two countries' new stage of development.

He emphasized the need to further increase high-level delegation exchanges and exchanges among parliamentary committees, young parliamentarians and female parliamentarians to share experience in legislative development and strengthening the parliament's oversight role.

Tran, for his part, reiterated that Viet Nam-Singapore relations are in a positive phase of development, adding that Singapore is one of Viet Nam's leading economic partners in investment, trade and connectivity.

Relations between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the People's Action Party have also made new progress, most notably with the establishment and implementation of the strategic dialogue mechanism, reflecting the high priority and strong political trust between the two parties, emphasized the guest.

Tran suggested both sides step up cooperation between the two legislatures and make effective use of existing cooperation mechanisms to realize the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, ensuring that the bilateral cooperation across various fields develops comprehensively and substantively.

The two sides vowed to foster coordination and mutual support within ASEAN and at regional and international forums, particularly as Singapore assumes the ASEAN Chair in 2027 and Viet Nam hosts the APEC in 2027, contributing to strengthening ASEAN solidarity and its central role, while making positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region./.
