Takaichi congratulated To on his election as the General Secretary and State President, affirming that Japan expects to strengthen cooperation with Viet Nam across all fields.

She hailed Viet Nam's position and role in the region, noting that the Southeast Asian nation is an important partner in Japan's Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) vision.

Japan treasures and highly values Viet Nam's independent and self-reliant foreign policy and supports its development goals in the new era, said the Japanese Prime Minister.

To, for his part, congratulated Japan's Liberal Democratic Party on its victory in the House of Representatives election last February and Takaichi's re-election as the Prime Minister of Japan.

He expressed confidence that Japan would continue to develop and contribute positively to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

The Vietnamese leader expressed his hope to foster stronger ties with Japan to help address regional and international issues, including ensuring energy security, promising that Viet Nam would continue to closely work with Japan on regional and global matters in the time ahead.

To took the occasion to convey his invitation to the Emperor and Empress of Japan, as well as Prime Minister Takaichi, to visit Viet Nam at an appropriate time.

The two leaders expressed their satisfaction with the strong and comprehensive development of the Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across all areas.

They pledged to enhance high-level exchanges and promote substantive cooperation in fields such as defense and security, economy, science and technology, digital transformation, green transition, energy security, labor, healthcare, and local-to-local cooperation./.
