Prime Minister seeks Japanese businesses' support for Viet Nam in financial matters

This is the second meeting in 2025 between the Prime Minister and Japanese businesses to enhance cooperation and investment, with the aim to maximize the effectiveness of cooperation projects.
Dignitaries at the meeting included Deputy Prime Ministers Ho Duc Phoc and Nguyen Chi Dung and Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Ito Naoki.
By the end of July 2025, Japan had 5,608 valid projects in Viet Nam with a total registered investment capital worth US$79.4 billion, ranking third among 151 countries and territories investing in the Southeast Asian country.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese investors have invested in 126 projects in Japan with a total registered investment capital of US$20.5 million.
During the meeting, the participants reviewed the bilateral trade and investment cooperation, discussed ways to address obstacles in specific projects as well as orientations for future cooperation.
The Prime Minister assigned ministries, sectors, localities, and corporations to work with the Japanese side and take into account their feedbacks related to administrative procedures, land policies, tax policies, food safety and hygiene, and procedures related to the retail system.
He emphasized the need to speed up the implementation of specific projects in various fields, especially in energy infrastructure, clean electricity, projects under the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) initiative, railway projects, and mineral exploitation and processing projects.
Pham urged Japanese businesses to continue accompanying and supporting Viet Nam in financial matters, including FDI, next-generation ODA, and indirect investment, participate in building the international financial center in Viet Nam, and expand investment to create more jobs.
He called for Japanese businesses' support in training high-quality human resources, especially in fields such as artificial intelligence, databases, semiconductor industry, new and renewable energy, biotechnology, healthcare, and high-tech agriculture.
The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that Japanese businesses will continue to support Viet Nam's development process for mutual benefits./.
