The meeting was held as part of Nguyen's tour to Japan where he also attends the Nikkei Forum 30th Future of Asia.

Nguyen spoke highly Prime Minister Ishiba's official visit to Viet Nam in recent April, which marks an important milestone and opens up new opportunities to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and Japan across all areas in the time ahead.

He expressed his delight at the strong and substantive development and high political trust in Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Viet Nam consistently regards Japan as a reliable partner in the new era of development, he noted, expressing his wish that both sides will closely work to effectively implement the common agreements reached by their senior leaders, and increase high-level exchanges and contacts to enhance political trust and close bond.

Nguyen called on the two sides to further foster cooperation in the areas of economy, investment, trade, culture, and education, as well as local-to-local linkages.

He also called on Japanese enterprises to invest in Viet Nam's major projects in spheres of urban railways, high-speed rail, energy, digital infrastructure and high-quality agriculture.

The guest emphasized the need to speed up collaboration in green transition, digital transformation, and high-quality human resource training, particularly in semiconductor sector.

He suggested that the Japanese Prime Minister direct relevant agencies to support and enhance the effectiveness of the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex project in the central province of Thanh Hoa.

Ishiba, for his part, said that he was impressed by Viet Nam's vision and development aspirations, as well as the country's spirit and momentum in the new era, expressing his confidence that the Southeast Asian nation will successfully achieve its development goals.

The host affirmed his commitment to actively promote the implementation of agreements reached by both sides' senor leaders, particularly in the fields of trade, economy, investment, science and technology, and human resource development.

The Prime Minister spoke highly of the excellence and diligence of the Vietnamese workforce in Japan, adding that the labor force is vital and irreplaceable, making significant contributions to the nation's development.

He also expressed a desire to increase manpower import from Viet Nam, including high-skilled labor.

Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concerns and pledged to closely coordinate at multilateral forums, strengthen cooperation in addressing global challenges, and promote multilateral free trade./.
