Medvedev highlighted the significance of the Vietnamese Party chief's visit to attend the 80th anniversary of Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War, especially in the context of both countries' commemoration of major historical events, including the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam–Russia diplomatic relations, the 80th anniversary of Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, and the 80th anniversary of Viet Nam's National Day.
The visit would help further deepen the traditional and trusted friendship between the two Parties and the two countries, noted Medvedev.
He also expressed his belief that Viet Nam would continue to move firmly forward on the path of sustainable development, independence, and comprehensive and intensive international integration.
To, for his part, expressed his pleasure to attend the 80th anniversary of Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War, adding that the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War contributed to the success of the August Revolution in Viet Nam in August 1945, which led to the birth of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam—now the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
He noted that the event is an occasion to honor the contributions of the Soviet Union and progressive forces around the world, as well as to remind younger generations of the sacrifices and losses of their forebears for peace and freedom.
General Secretary To praised Russia's dynamic development under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin and the United Russia Party, affirming that Viet Nam always attaches great importance to strengthening and expanding its comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia.
The Party leader emphasized that the cooperation between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the United Russia Party serves as a solid foundation for promoting bilateral relations across all areas.
The Party, State, and people of Viet Nam always deeply value and bear in mind the invaluable support of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today for its past struggle for independence as well as the current course of national construction and development, To affirmed.
Viet Nam places special importance on its traditional friendship with Russia and stands ready to work closely with the Russian Federation to elevate their relationship across key pillars such as politics, security and defense, energy, education and training, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, stated To.
The Party chief took the occasion to invite Medvedev to soon pay a visit to Viet Nam.
The two leaders affirmed their commitment to further consolidating political trust via high-level exchanges and close cooperation between the two Parties, which serves as the foundation for long-term and sustainable relationship.
They vowed to foster coordination between the youth of both countries to carry forward the tradition of friendship between the two Parties and peoples.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties and further expand cooperation in defense, security, oil and gas, economy and trade, science and technology, transportation infrastructure, aviation, aerospace, artificial intelligence, education and training, cybersecurity, culture, and tourism.
The two leaders also held extensive discussions on regional and international issues of mutual concern, pledging to intensify coordination at regional and international forums, especially the United Nations, APEC, and ASEAN./.
