To Lam begins four-day official visit to Russia
VGP - Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam arrived in Moscow on Thursday evening, starting an four-day official visit to the Russian Federation and participation in the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Upon arrival at Vnukovo 2 Airport, General Secretary To was warmly welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko, officials from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian Ambassador to Viet Nam Gennady Bezdetko, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi.

Immediately following the airport welcome ceremony, General Secretary Lam proceeded to the Prime Minister's Palace for a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Later the same day, he attended a ceremonial reception for world leaders hosted by President Putin for international leaders attending the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The visit underscores the deep historical ties and ongoing strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Russia. It also reflects Viet Nam's respect for the sacrifices made by the Soviet people during World War II in the fight against fascism and the preservation of global peace.

During his stay in Russia, General Secretary To and the Vietnamese delegation are expected to engage in a series of high-level meetings with senior Russian leaders, aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation.
The visit is seen as both a diplomatic milestone and a tribute to the shared history between the two nations, reaffirming Viet Nam's commitment to nurturing its long-standing friendship with the Russian Federation./.
