The General Secretary affirmed that Cuba's dispatch of a special envoy to visit Viet Nam following the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress demonstrates a special regard and the close-knit, faithful, sincere, and exemplary relations between the two Parties, States, and peoples.
In its foreign policy, Viet Nam always gives priority to relations with traditional friendly countries, especially Cuba, he noted.
Sharing the difficulties and challenges Cuba is facing due to the impacts of the blockade and natural disasters, the General Secretary reaffirmed the consistent stance of the Party, the State, and the people of Viet Nam in supporting and accompanying the Cuban people, and calling for the lifting of unilateral blockade and sanction measures against the country.
Viet Nam will continue to share its experience and effectively implement cooperation projects on rice, contributing to helping Cuba gradually achieve food and foodstuff self-sufficiency, while creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in Cuba, underlined the host.
Rodríguez conveyed a message from the senior leaders of Cuba congratulating the Communist Party of Viet Nam on the successful organization of its 14th National Party Congress—a major political event marking a glorious milestone in the historical course of the nation as well as extending congratulations on the 96th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
The Party and State of Cuba always give priority to fostering collaboration with Viet Nam in potential fields such as solar energy, goods manufacturing, tourism, and pharmaceuticals, affirmed the special envoy.
He said both sides should coordinate closely at international multilateral forums and educate the younger generations of the two countries about the tradition of Viet Nam–Cuba relations to further develop the special relationship.
The two sides exchanged views on major directions and measures to bring the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Cuba towards a more intensive, practical and effective manner in the coming period.
Both sides pledged to continue strengthening all-level delegation exchanges, maintaining regular and flexible cooperation mechanisms, theoretical exchanges, and the sharing of practical experience in Party building, cadre training, and state governance./.
