General Secretary To Lam holds phone conservation with top Cuban leader
VGP - General Secretary To Lam on January 26 held a phone conversation with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.

Diaz-Canel warmly congratulated Viet Nam on the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress.
He spoke highly of the historic achievements of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) over the past 40 years since the introduction of renewal policy, noting that these achievements have not only laid a solid foundation for the nation to enter a new era of development but also provided valuable experience for Cuba in carrying out economic reforms.
With the leadership role, vision, and steadfastness of the CPV, led by General Secretary To Lam, the Cuban leader expressed his belief that Viet Nam will successfully achieve the goals set for 2030 and 2045.
The Party, State, and people of Cuba give top priority to the relations with Viet Nam and are determined to further deepening comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, building on the valuable legacy of their relationship as well as the solidarity and close bonds between the two peoples laid by Leader Fidel Castro and President Ho Chi Minh, stated the Cuban leader.
General Secretary To Lam, for his part, said the 14th National Party Congress has identified the overarching viewpoint of placing the people at the center, the subject, the objective, the driving force, and the resource of the development process.
It has defined the establishment of a new growth model for Viet Nam based on knowledge economy, digital economy, green economy, and circular economy, while fully promoting the role of all economic sectors.
The 14th National Party Congress has also placed special emphasis on strengthening Party building and rectification, on building a clean, strong, streamlined, effective, and efficient political system.
Regarding foreign affairs, it has affirmed that foreign affairs and international integration along with national defense and security are the key and regular tasks, while consistently pursuing a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
Viet Nam attaches great importance to its special and exemplary friendship with Cuba and stands ready to further consolidate the traditional solidarity and enhance bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the people of both countries, and for peace, cooperation, and development in each region and the world, underlined the Party chief.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in bilateral relations across many fields. They vowed to direct their relevant ministries and agencies to work closely together and effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms, plans, and programs across all channels, levels, and sectors to promote the bilateral relations in a substantive and sustainable manner./.
